Staffing News

We are sad to be saying goodbye to Mrs Sally Elsen who is leaving us after 7 years loyal service to join the staff at Sharps Copse Primary School. We wish her well in her new role. Mrs Abbott will be taking the role of SENCO supported by Mr Summerton who returns from his secondment at the beginning of January.

We also wish good luck to Mrs Rayner who leaves to have her baby at the end of term. We wish her a speedy production and much joy.

Non-Uniform Day - Friday, 25th November 2011

We would like pupils to take part in a “BE BRIGHT, BE SEEN” non-uniform day.

Our role is to raise pupils and parents awareness of road safety and we would like pupils to wear clothes that could be seen in the dark. This could include fluorescent slap-bands, reflective clothing, brightly coloured jumpers/t-shirts, bright pink tutu’s, bright socks, tights, scarves, etc. We do not want people to go out and buy things just for this non-uniform dress up day, just go through the wardrobes!

This is a fun way for us to put across a serious message to all.

Christmas Fayre

The H.S.A. are organising the Christmas Fayre to be held after school on Friday 2nd December. We are planning a smaller fayre than normal as we will be holding a bigger event in the summer term. This year there will be a Santa’s Grotto, a Christmas stall and refreshments.

Tickets for the Grotto will be on sale in the large playground after school the week commencing Monday 21st November at £2.00 per child. Spaces are limited so get your ticket early to avoid disappointment.

Christmas Carol Service

We hope you are able to join us for the School Carol Service  on Monday, 12th December which will be held on the large playground at 6.00pm.

Come and enjoy the carol singing accompanied by the school orchestra, choir and steel pans. Wrap up warm and bring your torches. Entrance will be through the Year 1 gates where hot and cold drinks will be on sale. £1 for hot drinks and 50p for cold.

We are trialling a new organisation this year, with improved sound and lighting. Further information to follow.

Cross-Country Festival

Well done to all the children from years 3 and 4 who went to Wicor Primary School for a cross-country festival on Tuesday 4th October! The children were competing against pupils from 6 local primary schools and had to run two laps of a course that took up an entire school field!

Author Visit - Jeremy Strong

Wow! What a fabulous day we all had when Jeremy Strong came to visit our school. Jeremy is the author of 40 children’s books, including Hundred Mile an Hour Dog and a Viking in my Bed. He told us many humorous tales and was truly inspirational. We could not stop laughing. After seeing him, “The children were ‘absolutely buzzing”, said Mrs Davies.

Thank you from the School Council for all your generous donations in support of the homeless in Fareham and Gosport.

"Bags 2 School"

A huge thank you to everybody who filled the ‘Cash for Clothes’ charity bags. We had a great deal of bags donated which was wonderful.

Well done to Green Team for all their hard work.
